I think it's a cultural issue, John. In this age of inter-connectivity, change happens slowly, slowly, and then all at once. All of a sudden, gay people can marry. All of a sudden, Black Lives Matter. So the slowly, slowly part is about reaching critical mass. When we get there, and we're close on so many levels, the way we think about ourselves will change overnight. I think the realization that we are part of a larger living organism, Planet Earth, is the most effective vehicle for change today, and I think that is being brought home to many people - millions around the world - by this pandemic. So forget about hope - that's a dead end. Have faith in human nature, and faith in the natural world. We are adaptive, and the world is resilient.
